2016 Rathmines and the Rising

In 2016, the Rathmines Initiative published a guidebook Rathmines and the Rising: People and Places, and held an exhibition in the Rathmines Library. The exhibition went on tour to the Charleville Library in North Cork in December 2018. Guidebooks are available to purchase (price €5), please contact rathminesinitiativedublin@gmail.com for more details.

2010 Swan Leisure Centre

The 2000 Rathmines Area Study inspired the design competition that led to the construction of Swan Leisure Centre. ​Swan Leisure Centre, a cherished community leisure centre complete with an indoor swimming pool, was opened in Rathmines Square on 6 September 2010. Swan Leisure is operated by Dublin City Sports and Leisure Services Ltd. on behalf of Dublin City Council.

2005 Conservation and Urban Regeneration Study

2000 Development Proposal for Local Area Action Plan

In 2003, Dublin City Council (South East Area) commissioned a conservation study of Lower Rathmines Road in recognition of the need for physical, social and economic rejuvenation in the area, as identified by the 1998 Local Area Plan. The study was written and compiled by Blackwood Associates Architects and supported by the Rathmines Initiative.
In 1999, Rathmines Initiative the UCD School of Architecture to conduct a study of Rathmines in preparation for the Local Area Action Plan. This study was made possible by a grant from Dublin City Corporation, and was carried out by a group of 2nd year students under the direction of University lecturer and local architect Gerry Cahill.
